Word Guess (“the App”) is developed by Vorith Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

The App is fully playable without creating an account or signing in. If you choose to sign in via Google Play Games (Android) to enable cloud sync and global leaderboards, we may collect:

Display name (from your Play Games profile)
Account email address (when provided by Play Games)
Profile photo URL (if available from Play Games)
Player identifier (a non-personally-identifiable ID used for leaderboard ranking and cloud sync)

If you do not sign in, the App stores your game history and statistics only on your device. We do not transmit your gameplay data to any server until you sign in.

1.2 Gameplay and Statistics Data

When you play the game, the App generates and stores:

Game results (wins, losses, guesses used, word length, mode, timestamp)
Aggregate statistics (win rate, current streak, best streak, guess distribution)
Settings preferences (theme, accessibility, sound, etc.)

If you are signed in, this gameplay data is synced to Firebase Firestore so it is available across your devices. If you are not signed in, this data remains only on your device.

1.3 Information Collected Automatically (Advertising)

The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect, on its own behalf, the following information to deliver and measure advertising:

Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID on Android)
Device information (device model, operating system version, screen size, locale/language settings)
IP address (used for approximate geographic targeting and fraud prevention)
Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks)
App-identifier information (the AdMob app/unit IDs configured in the App)

AdMob’s data collection is governed by Google’s privacy policies:

You may reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertising in your device’s Google settings.

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above to:

Operate the App — generate daily puzzles, record your statistics, and persist your settings.
Provide cloud features — sync your stats and submit scores to leaderboards (only if you are signed in).
Display advertising — show ads via Google AdMob. Ads help support the free version of the App.
Diagnose and fix issues — debug crashes and improve performance.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your gameplay data for advertising profiling or cross-app tracking.

4. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or such higher age as required by applicable law in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Because the App integrates Google AdMob (which can serve contextual advertising), we have configured AdMob to treat ad requests as coming from users who are not children, in line with Google Play’s Families Policy. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts or sign in to the App.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at the address below so we can promptly delete the data.

5. Data Storage and Security

On-device data is stored using standard Android platform storage mechanisms (SQLite database for game history, MMKV for settings, AsyncStorage for tokens). It remains on your device until you uninstall the App.
Cloud data (if you sign in) is stored in Firebase Firestore using Google’s infrastructure. Google applies industry-standard security measures; see https://cloud.google.com/security.
Sign-out and data deletion: you may sign out at any time from the App’s Settings screen. Signing out removes your locally cached authentication tokens. To request deletion of cloud-stored data associated with your account, contact us at the address below.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Opt out of advertising personalization: enable “Opt out of Ads Personalization” in your device’s Google settings, or reset your Advertising ID.
Remove interstitial ads: purchase the in-app “Pro” upgrade. Pro removes interstitial ads; optional rewarded ads for gameplay helps (extra attempt / letter hint) may still be available.
Sign out: clear your account and stop future cloud sync.
Uninstall: removes all locally stored data.
Access and deletion requests: contact us at the email below.

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., EEA / UK / California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.

7. International Data Transfers

If you sign in and use the cloud features, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates its Firebase infrastructure. By using the cloud features, you consent to this transfer.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice within the App or through the app store listing.
